Lucknow | The 19th foundation day of Shri Sankat Haran Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple was celebrated with great religious fervour and enthusiasm on Monday, drawing hundreds of devotees to the shrine located on Birbal Sahni Marg in Old Hyderabad area of Lucknow.
Rituals Begin with Special Worship
According to temple trust member R P Sharma, the celebrations commenced early in the morning as the temple doors opened. The idol of Lord Hanuman was ceremonially bathed with Ashtagandha and adorned with a fresh decoration.
A collective Sahasraarchan puja was then performed by a group of priests including Pandit Dinesh Dixit, Acharya Pawan Mishra, Sudhanshu Shukla, Pramod Kumar, and Pandit Dinesh Kumar Mishra.
Havan, Bhog and Community Feast
The religious rituals were followed by a havan ceremony, after which boondi and kachori were offered as bhog to the deity. A grand bhandara (community feast) was then organized, which continued till late evening, with hundreds of devotees partaking in the prasad.
Sundarkand Recitation and Bhajan Sandhya
In the evening, the temple premises resonated with devotional fervour as a musical group of Hanuman devotees from the Police Lines led a collective recitation of Sundarkand, a revered chapter from the Ramcharitmanas.

The celebrations concluded with a vibrant bhajan sandhya, where artists including Vinita Singh, Roshanlal, and Subhash Arora presented soulful devotional songs, captivating the audience.
Large Devotee Participation
The event witnessed the presence of several prominent devotees and community members, including Ajay Mehrotra, S D Sawant, Chaitanya Agnihotri, B K Saxena, Siddharth Agarwal, Jyoti Kiran Ratan, Pandit Jitendra Dixit, Mahendra, Hemant Kumar Chaturvedi, Brajesh Kumar, Pawan Sharma, Kalpana Agarwal, Rajendra Kumar Agarwal, and Abhay, among others.
The event not only reflected deep spiritual devotion but also highlighted the strong sense of community bonding, making the 19th foundation day of the temple a memorable and harmonious celebration for all attendees.
